Meet Our General Manager
Dr. Tsegaye Woldegiorgis, General Manager
It is a profound honor to join the Kelem International School community as General Manager. My journey in education and development endeavors has been driven by a lifelong commitment to fostering environments where every learner can thrive. With a PhD in Leadership and Management, complemented by two Master’s degrees in Educational Policy and Planning & Development Studies, and Bachelor Degree in Educational Administration, I view leadership not as a position of power, but as a platform for stewardship. My goal is to ensure that Kelem remains a beacon of excellence, where administrative efficiency and financial integrity directly serve our core mission: the holistic development of our students.
My professional background spans 30+ years of diverse experience, ranging from the front lines of primary and college-level classrooms to senior executive roles in NGOs with UN/USAID/EU funded program initiatives. Having served as a College Dean and researcher, I understand the academic heart of a school, while my leadership at a rehabilitation center for children with disabilities has deeply shaped my commitment to inclusive, empathetic education. This unique blend of academic deanship, financial oversight, and programmatic management allows me to view school operations through a truly comprehensive lens.
At the core of my leadership philosophy is the principle of Servant Leadership. I believe that my primary responsibility is to support and empower our talented faculty, engage authentically with our parents, and provide our students with the infrastructure and resources they need to succeed. I am here to listen, to collaborate, and to serve. By streamlining our administrative and financial systems, I aim to create a seamless environment where our educators can focus on what they do best—inspiring the next generation of global citizens.
I look forward to working closely with each member of the Kelem family. My door is always open to ideas and partnerships that strengthen our school’s impact. Together, let us continue to build a vibrant, inclusive, and high-performing community that honors the trust you place in us every day.
Message from Our Vice Principal
Mia Kiiski, Vice Principal
I serve as the school’s Vice Principal, and my main responsibility is implementing the curriculum by integrating the Finnish curriculum with international frameworks to ensure effective and high-quality teaching and learning.
At the heart of the curriculum is the holistic development of every learner — academic, emotional, social, and ethical — supporting them in becoming capable and responsible members of society. Joy in learning, curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills are actively nurtured and strengthened. The well-being of both students and the entire school community is very important and close to my heart.
In Finland, I have worked as a classroom teacher for 22 years and as a principal for 8 years. I am delighted to be part of the Kelem International School KIS community and to work together for the benefit of the students and the whole school community.

Children are happy and well taken care of at Kelem. The teaching and learning approach is creative, diverse and keeps the students engaged.
